Rave is based in Dallas, TX and was founded in 1999 by Thomas W. Stephenson Jr.

Since its inception in 1999, Rave Cinemas has been dedicated to enriching the movie-going experience for audiences across the country. Rave Cinemas has set the industry standard for customer experience and comfort by featuring stadium seating, all digital projection, 3D technology, IMAX and raveXtreme large screen formats, plush rocker seats and plenty of legroom.

Rave Cinemas was also a pioneer in the adoption of current satellite technology and is a leader in alternative content programming from live sports to concerts to opera.

In December, 2009, Rave announced the acquisition of 35 theaters, thereby increasing the Rave brand to approximately 1000 screens in 20 states and seven of the top ten DMAs. Rave is now the fifth largest domestic circuit by box office gross and number of screens.

In Spring of 2011, Rave named Rolando B. Rodriguez as its new CEO and President.  He brings thirty years of experience in motion picture exhibition and operations, as well as, extensive retail expertise to the current dynamic theater exhibition industry. While he leads us forward, Rave remains committed to old fashioned values as well.
